But remember, as I understood, whether you take it for rest or just enjoyment, in each cup there is a different experience to be waited for.

What is Rose Milk Tea?

Rose Milk Tea, is a combination of tea, milk, and the soothing aromatic flavor of rose. The drink has become quite a trend in the past few years due to its rich convincing flavour along with ample health benefits. Most people prefer having it in one of the two forms that is hot or cold and served with boba or tapioca pearls for an enhanced taste and texture.

It might sound quite unbelievable, but Rose Milk Tea is not a modern-day drink. The consumables of the region have incorporated the use of edible and fragrant rose oil and dried rose petal bricks for centuries. When combined with black tea or green tea, the sweet floral notes of the rose complement the richness of the tea, creating a delicious and aromatic drink that is perfect for any occasion.

In my experience, Rose Milk Tea is not just a drink; it’s an experience—a calming and flavorful way to unwind or treat yourself. Be it a noon-time refreshment or a drink, this tea features a soft, but pleasant space in the corner at any time of the day.

How to Make Rose Milk Tea at Home

It is quite simple to prepare Rose Milk Tea at home and all you need are just a few ingredients. Whether you want one the traditional way or you want to come up with your creative version, here this describes how to make this tasty drink step by step:

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 teaspoons of loose-leaf black tea (or green tea)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of rose water (you can adjust based on your preferred floral strength)
  • 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy options like almond or oat milk work great)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sweetener (sugar, honey, or your preferred sweetener)
  • Optional: Tapioca pearls (boba) or rose petals for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Brew the Tea: Begin by heating some water in a kettle then pour in some loose-leaf tea and let it remain for around 3-5 minutes. It is important that the tea that one brews is strong enough to be mixed in with some milk without diluting the flavor of the tea.
  2. Prepare the Milk: As the tea is soaking, heat some milk in another saucepan. Rendering steamed milk is optional too if you want a frothy look. Add the sweetener to the milk and mix until it is well dissolved.
  3. Combine: When the tea is brewed, remove the leaves and transfer it to a glass or cup. Add the rose water and mix properly.
  4. Add the Milk: Pour the warm sweetened milk into the tea mixture, and stir lightly. To add some sprinkles of extra taste and beauty, these toppings can also include some pearl tapioca or some dried rose petals.
  5. Serve: Here’s the most important part: sip on your homemade Rose Milk Tea either hot or cold! on the other hand, if you want it cold, allow it to cool down and put ice cubes.

Making Rose Milk Tea is wonderful because you can control the tea strength and the amount of rose in the drink. It makes it very enjoyable as you can have it anytime you want without the fear that you will take much time preparing the same. I prepare some every time I want to take a short break.

What Does Rose Milk Tea Boba Taste Like?

If you’ve ever had Rose Milk Tea with boba (tapioca pearls), you know it adds an entirely new dimension to the flavor and texture. The sweet chewy balls go well with the soft texture of the milk tea creating a delicious drink.

Rose Milk Tea boba is light, has a pleasant aftertaste, and tastes sweet, flowery, and somewhat creamy. Usually, the boba contains some sugar syrup to sweeten it, which counters the floral spices of rose. Together, they make a drink that feels luxurious yet light at the same time.

The first time I had Rose Milk Tea with boba, I was simply shocked about how the pearls of tapioca were so chewy and added to the pleasure of drinking it. It’s both a dessert and a beverage. I Love It!

Is Rose Milk Tea Safe During Pregnancy?

There are different diets to observe during pregnancy and care must be taken to what is safe and what isn’t. Rose Milk Tea is however believed to be safe in pregnancy when taken in moderation. Here are some things to consider:

  1. Caffeine Content: Rose milk tea and or green tea if used in rose milk tea preparation contain caffeine. Caffeine is recommended to be limited during pregnancy since excessive caffeine will higher the risks of miscarriage and low birth weight. It’s better to refrain from excessive taking and order a non-caffeinated tea instead if necessary.

It is not usually harmful, though some women might be allergic to some herbal components. That is why it is always wise to confirm with your doctor if there is something that you are particular about.

On a personal level, tea with rose milk has been one of my favorite indulgent and comforting drinks, and like in almost every case, it is safe for most individuals during pregnancy when taken in small amounts. Still, if there are any issues in particular, it is best to see a physician.

  3. Hydration: The tea and the milk both help in hydration, which plays a role in promoting health and wellness.
